Accusing America of being a racist nation and disrespecting the flag and all it stands for, it’s common behavior for the liberals, and one University of Miami professor did just that with a recent art display.
The associate professor of sculpture Billie Grace Lynn used the American flag to shape the three KKK hoods, with the eye holes burnt out. She named the art the “American Mask.”
“[A] work suggesting that bigotry and racism are hiding behind our American flag,” a caption read on her website.
The display presents Democratic viewpoints that President Trump’s patriotism is only a mask for his hidden prejudices.
The masks are sitting on the poles shaped like Nazi swastikas.
In the public eye, Lynn is presenting her offensive art as a “question.”
“It’s a deliberately provocative piece,” she said on CNN. “It’s a proposal. I’m asking a question. “There’s no way to walk up to someone on the street and say, ‘Do you think people are concealing their bigotry and racism behind the flag, behind being patriotic?’”
“That’s the question and that’s what I find so disturbing.”
The art is a part of the University’s yearly faculty art show, and one black worker in the building where the art is displaying says he finds it offensive.
“This is disgusting. This is disrespectful,” Patrick Young stated. “I can’t see it being a positive message any way you put it.”
The private University supports the controversial artwork.
“The University of Miami supports artistic expression and freedom of speech,” the university told CNN in a statement. “The art exhibit by University of Miami associate professor Billie G. Lynn, American Mask, was not reviewed or approved in advance by University of Miami officials, nor would it be subject to such review: It is an art exhibit by a member of our faculty, and her art is of her making.”
